Emm is a real life Rockstar living in Los Angeles, singing her way to the top. She has been an inspiration to me as I watch the unfolding of her career. Self Made
Emm decided early on in her music career she was going to take the path of most resistance which has given her more creative control over her look, her sound and everything she decides to do as an artist. The pressures of any industry and those in charge can be huge, but she is paving her own way. But it’s likely she wouldn’t agree entirely with the notion of being a “self made woman”. Early on she included God and faith in the journey and it’s helped in a big way.
The Shift from Broke to Successful
Emm spoke prayer over herself every day on the walk to work and back.
“I think every person has a right to be provided for as God’s child. So I was like, you know what? I think God’s going to take care of me. And I’m just going to speak that over myself until I believe that it’s true because my faith is weak in this area. And I was just speaking that constantly. Twenty-four- seven, all the way to work. When I went to the bathroom at work, when people left the room at work, like all the time, I was speaking out loud and all the way home.”
She believes in faith in action, and has illustrated that by taking action every day towards her big music goals.
