IT’S TIME TO TALK ABOUT HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Let’s talk about human trafficking. Is it a subject you have allowed yourself to explore? We are facing a prevalent issue today with the evil that exists in our world. I was excited to record this episode, but not in the way I usually feel about the podcast recording. I just knew that the subject matter was important and wanted to bring more light to the darkness.
Human Trafficking has become one of the most rampant issues of our day. We have been silent for far too long. Acting ignorantly, we haven’t comprehended this invisible war that is happening right under our noses. Victims of human trafficking are mostly children and they are being primarily trafficked for sex slavery. Recently someone explained to me how much more lucrative human trafficking is than drug trafficking. A human victim can be trafficked repeatedly, whereas drugs are used one time. The high is never ending with human trafficking, but the drugs are only paid for one time.
IT’S TIME TO SPEAK UP
In a world where this horrific practice has become so widespread and is happening right in front of our faces, it’s time we speak up. It’s time to become a voice for those who cannot speak up for themselves. These kids need our help and if we are too caught up in our own struggles to advocate for them, who will be left? Those in power with a lot of money control so much of the way society works and functions. And it is money that is the driving force behind human trafficking. We need to pray, yes. I believe strongly in the power of prayer because it enables miracles. We also need to arm ourselves with the same level of weaponry they have! They are using money to bury their crimes, so as a result, we must use it too.
I’m sharing on the podcast today some ways that we can fight human trafficking. One of the key ways we can win the battle is to speak up, since far too many people are staying silent. There are millions of children suffering right now at the hand of abusers. We cannot sit idly by and allow this practice to continue.
The statistics of human trafficking will shock you. There are facts we have to acknowledge to be able to combat the evil. There are thousands of children trafficked hundreds of time per day. The United States has the highest demand for child trafficking. Children are being trafficked by their own parents, resulting in a culture of “who on earth can we trust anymore”?
WHAT WE CAN DO
Today, July 30th is World Day Against Human Trafficking and it’s an important, vital issue to discuss the impact WE can make to eradicate this from our world. There are ways we can go beyond protests to make a real difference Decisions we make every day will determine our ability to contribute to the cause. It’s time to be a strong and powerful advocate for goodness. We can’t fight fire with weak approaches- we have to bring our best. And to bring our best we have to DO our best to create lives that enable us to contribute to important causes like this!
Operation Underground Railroad is a nonprofit organization started because someone needed to bring more light and attention to human trafficking. Because of the evil that exists, there are strong men and women who fight for justice against human trafficking and I have followed their business and operations for many years now.
