I OWE IT TO MY MOM
Summer and I discussed how difficult it could be working in an industry that is so focused on the exterior. But she explained that her mother helped her create a sense of reality much bigger than her looks. I was in awe hearing the key things her mom told her early on in her career that have stuck with Summer her entire life. Her mother instilled a sense of common sense and confidence that has kept Summer thriving throughout every stage of her career.
ROOTS OF FAITH
At one point Summer’s beliefs and religion seemed at odds with one another. This led her to ask some real and personal questions of God. The response and inspiration she received gave her the ability to move forward in faith. Her experience can inspire many religious professionals to understand how their gifts and talents can find balance with the world. A core sense of self played a big part in Summer’s success.
THE JOY OF REJECTION
One of the biggest contributors to success is how well a person can fail. Summer tells about how rejection was such a huge part of her career from day one, and how it’s empowered her to achieve bigger goals and endeavors in her life.
GIFTS AND TALENTS FOR ALL
Summer learned early on the type of woman she wanted to be. She also experienced the reaction to her living in alignment with her gifts, which made her play small. But after a season she recognized her living fully was inspiring to others, and the only way she really wanted to live.
