Are you a mompreneur? Let’s define that term shall we? A mompreneur is a mom who doubles as an entrepreneur. Basically, you’re superhuman and able to do ANTHING.
Welcome to Marvelous Mompreneur
My favorite friends episode in the WORLD is the PIVOT episode. You know the one, right? When Ross, Chandler and Rachel are trying to get a couch up the staircase, and they need to keep making pivots. Ross shouts out over and over to “pivot” and the word itself becomes far too annoying for Chandler to handle. Well my friends, pivot is exactly what I have done more times than I’d like to admit. But in order for me to accomplish what I know I need to in my business, it’s time for another one. I am pivoting to something I actually considered doing years ago. The Marvelous Moms Club was first Marvelous, and now it is Marvelous Mompreneur. Why? Let’s talk about it…
I’m talking to YOU
If you’re a mom building a business, you are my person. I started out my podcast talking about all things mom life. I was new at business and super intrigued with how women were doing it. But I was also in the trenches with raising little kids and I was loving stories from moms on how they conquered nap time and teething as well. But the longer I went, I found myself way more intrigued by the mompreneur stories than the other ones. There are some exceptions to this, like my highest downloaded episode with Kindle Garner- Episode 117 Against All Odds With Kindle Garner. At the end of the day, building businesses is what lights me up and makes me an even better mom. We are an entrepreneurial family and I can’t deny it any longer!
What comes next?
If you’ve been around a while, you know not much will change. The heart and soul of what I do and share will remain. I will bring you the motivation, inspiration and heart I always have. I will also not be holding back on strategies to build and scale your business. I want to help as many women as possible become millionaires! Why limit our power to earn and make impact in this world, simply because we have the role of nurturing as well? Those skills that make us incredible moms make us powerful business owners. So expect to gain a lot of insight and knowledge on top of the hype and motivation that is characteristic of my show!
Tune in to today’s episode and share it with a fellow mompreneur!

Welcome to Marvelous Mompreneur yep that’s right if you’ve been listening for a long time you’ve heard so many iterations of this show it started as marvelous moms club I transitioned it to marvelous and now after a really big aha moment that i’m going to talk to you guys about today on this episode we’re switching it again and it’s actually a name that has been toyed around with in my head for probably four out of the five years that i’ve been podcasting on this show so we’re switching to marvelous mompreneur now I don’t really know if I can explain the resistance that I had to this name change I don’t know if I can remember all of the places that my brain has gone over the last four or five years but I’m gonna do my best to explain kind of the really really great moment that I had last night on a brand new social media platform we’re going to talk about today but to all of you guys who have been here who have been loyal listeners loyal fans for the entire five years I hope that you are learning something from all the pivots and shifts that have to happen for a business owner it’s me literally practicing what I preach there have to be times when you pivot there have to be times when you make adjustments and you have to be intuitive you have to be an intuitive business owner okay so first of all happy new year if you’re listening in real time if you have noticed it’s been a couple months since i’ve had a new episode it’s been a really crazy uh last few months as i’m sure it has been for you guys getting through the holidays and now we are starting a new year and i’m not going to do the whole cliche thing where we talk about setting goals and all that stuff but I do want to tell you that if you haven’t seen this yet I have a really really awesome free resource if you are running a business which at this point if you’re listening i’m going to tell you right now that the next episodes you’re going to hear on this show are really going to be most relevant if you are running a business but there’s a lot of really good mindset and a lot of good uh just life coaching that’s going to be happening on here too so it’s okay if you want to stick around maybe you’re just toying around with the idea of starting a business all that being said I have a free resource for you it is a business reboot I created this mostly for myself I really needed to do this kind of clean up this purge I don’t know if you guys do this as moms after christmas I think all of us do this we we out with the old and with the new we kind of de-junk the kids toys we go through all of the things we maybe get rid of some of our holiday decorations we went through a major purge organization this year I mean maybe bigger than ever and it was so refreshing and as we were going through even just the holiday of of you know accumulating and really identifying what we need and what we don’t need we’ve been going into this more essential minimalist lifestyle um we I started looking around my office and I was like oh I just feel so good in here and it’s just this office my office space is such a prime example of what my business has really been like for the last few years i’ve always kind of danced around the idea of having a designated office space i’ve always had a room in my house well not always ever since maybe like four years ago i’ve had a space to call my office but a lot of times i’m doing work on the laptop around the house just kind of wherever I feel like I need to be and in some ways I love having an office space and in other ways I don’t because I feel like it’s um it’s never really been aesthetically like what I want it to be right and and I share the office space with ben and it’s just it’s weird I can’t even explain it but towards the end of december I looked around I was like I love my office space and there’s things that I want to do to update it and there’s some things I want to do to refresh it but overall I feel like my office represents my business it’s really cleaned out it’s really simplified and i’ve really boiled it down to the things that I really want to do so I created this business reboot and it’s a free three video training that you can sign up for just go to kirstentyrel.comreboot and you can sign up for that for free uh it’s good you guys it’s good it’s very it’s basic but it’s really powerful and it’s the things that you can do to kind of clean up and cleanse and set goals for the future in your business and in your life so there’s that now moving forward let’s talk about the rebrand the yet again rebrand and in my head I feel like everybody’s probably like oh my gosh again but you’re probably not even caring all that much or noticing all that much as long as the content is here right and to me the problem with focusing so much on the branding and all of the outward stuff has really inhibited my ability to do the things that I love doing which is building community creating content showing up for my people and providing value and what kind of got me out of this funk recently is I joined a new social platform and if you follow me on instagram you’ve heard me talk about it a little bit I in my head I think I talk about things a lot but it’s because i’m talking to my friends i’m on the phone i’m texting with friends that i’m super excited about these things with on social media I need to be better at like actually presenting what’s going on behind the scenes and talking to you guys about this but that is why i’m creating this podcast episode today and i’m going to publish it today because i’ve waited way too long and it really reinvigorated my soul to get on this platform which is the long-winded version of me saying I joined a new social platform it’s really hard to get into it’s in beta testing right now so you have to be invited it’s iphone users only and it’s called clubhouse now clubhouse is an audio only platform which hello i’m a podcaster I love audio I love the power of audio and i’m here for it right so when I found out about this and some of my friends were like this platform was made for you you need to be on here instant fomo like I have to be on that platform and it’s hard to get onto so now I want it even more so the cool thing is I since talking about it if I have your phone number on my phone which y’all I don’t expect all of you to be in my phone but i’ve been able to uh recommend a lot of people into the platform so that’s my tip to you if you have friends who are on clubhouse make sure that you are going in and requesting your username because then they can add you into the platform and I think this episode’s gonna be so funny down the line in the future when this is so irrelevant because I do see it being a super super popular platform and it won’t have this barrier of entry anymore but it’s brilliant the way that they’re doing it because it is creating urgency and it’s creating scarcity and it’s creating a desire to be on there and creating content now even after just a couple of days on that platform I was blown away by the networking opportunities and the potential inside of clubhouse there’s a few different ways that people are using it but at the same time it’s really universal nobody really has a leg up over anyone it’s really not about like having a huge follower count and nothing is recorded so it’s not about creating this like evergreen stuff it’s about really truly do you know what you’re talking about and can you hold your own in a conversation with people can you provide value you can’t hide behind the vanity metrics you can’t hide behind filters or anything like that it’s it’s just the voice it’s just you speaking from the heart it’s you speaking based on your knowledge and it to me it’s a really raw true platform there’s no editing right there’s no replays later this is real conversations as if you were gathered around the table with actual people so it’s a really really really fascinating one and last night I hosted my very first room on clubhouse so you can kind of create these conversations you can have invite other people to moderate the conversations with you and I actually met up with six other female entrepreneurs mompreneurs and we kind of had a discussion about balance and i’m going to talk about our discussion in more depth in the next episode that i’m going to record for next week but I wanted to just tell you what happened to me during that conversation and what has like shifted me into high gear today after months and months of just being feeling like I was in this really deep mud and trying to like pull my feet out from have you ever been in like a pond that has silt on the bottom where it’s not just mud it’s silt and it is so heavy and it is so thick and slimy and it’s really really hard to get out of it i’ve done I was I was in a pond like that when I was like 14 and it was really really gross and really really overwhelming and scary um and so that’s how this last several months has felt is just like oh I know there’s something but i’m just not quite there and i’ve had to go through a process of healing and overcoming some trauma and a lot of really hard things that have happened as a result of me putting myself out there being an entrepreneur and and building businesses like there’s a lot of you’re not going to be immune from struggle so anyway that’s a totally other discussion but I really started to live inside of a vacuum I was talking to you know a handful of people about my dreams and my goals and it was always oh i’ll try this idea and i’ll sell this thing or i’ll do this or i’ll do that and I didn’t stick to anything for a long period of time and anytime that my friends noticed hey you’ve been talking about this one thing for two months this might be it like you’re actually sticking to it um and but even still like there was just so much of me trying to analyze and make sense of everything and I know you guys probably are doing this too I know you’re wanting to perfect things from the outside you want the words correct you want the website done you want the colors figured out you want uh your brand to make sense you want the perfect instagram bio and the problem with that the reason I feel like that has put me out of alignment is when I started five years ago and by the way yesterday was a five year anniversary of when I officially launched this podcast so this episode should have gone live yesterday that would have been so poetic but what is totally against my nature is that perfectionism is that trying to get it all right and I fail fast and that is how miracles happen in my business that is how i’ve been able to grow really fast make a lot of money build amazing networks and what I loved about clubhouse was it was back to that stage of just putting yourself out there and not having to have everything curated and perfect and pre-planned it’s very raw it’s very in the moment so it’s a really cool platform I suggest you jump on there if you can follow me my username is the same as it is on instagram just kirsten tyrell but what happened on that discussion as I was talking to these moms is I had a lot of stuff that I didn’t realize I was carrying around with me a lot of mom guilt a lot of shame over uh you know when I decided to become a homeschool mom I really felt like I was having to make this decision of now this is my primary goal and my secondary is business i’m not going to worry so much about business anymore my business was in a really good place it was earning a lot of money and I was like I can just kind of set that on the sidelines and then as things happen you know when you make plans just expect for them to blow up things totally blew up my business did a complete 180 a lot of things changed and i’m facing the situation where i’ve been deciding do I rebuild what’s my priority and I very much created this line in the sand and decided I couldn’t have both I decided that if i’m gonna homeschool and have my kids at home and I want to pursue all these things that are very family focused then I cannot be as into the business as I was before and I actually started generating stories in my head of oh yeah it was such a hard time when I was running my business from home and I just didn’t have balance and it just didn’t work and today I had this just so much clarity of remembering kirsten tyrell is fully kirsten tyrell I am fully me and take away the name label even I in an in a very like spiritual real purpose-driven place where there’s no physical identity there’s no outliers uh this is who I am i’m a person who needs to create i’m a person who needs to network with other women i’m a person who needs to inspire other people lead women and teach them how to build seven-figure businesses there’s even been shame surrounding the seven figure thing and making a million dollars and i’ve created a whole story around that of how that shouldn’t be the focus but you guys at the end of the day i’m passionate about teaching women and families how to create financial independence how to confidently build something that you were put on this earth to build and I fully believe that if you felt inspired to do it that there’s a reason you’re feeling that inspiration that that is coming from a higher source that that is something you’re meant to build yes there needs to be some level of awareness with not just focusing on the money and and driving the train with only that in mind but that still has to be a conversation we have to stop this male driven uh kind of egocentric way of doing business and it just it woke me up again and it made me remember the reason I loved doing the marvelous moms club podcast my favorite episodes being completely honest with you were the mompreneur ones those are the ones I looked forward to the most the funny thing is we’re going to have a little bit of a transition I think with this podcast audience because still to this day I think the audience that i’ve built is very based around they want to hear the mom stories and when we talk about the mompreneur stuff we have fewer downloads now that’s not always the case there are some that actually do really really really well uh depending I think on the focus and how well i’ve presented that to you but i’m really excited because I think i’m finally getting to a place from like I don’t care I don’t even really love the word mompreneur if i’m being honest it’s overused and it’s totally become like a buzzword but that’s the best way I can describe the people that I want to have conversations with these are the people who I understand what’s going on in your world I understand all the things that you’re balancing I understand all of the demons that you’re facing when it comes to your guilt and your shame and your questions and and your fear when it comes to building a business and fearing that you can’t put your family first but I look at everything that i’ve done and I look at the balance if balance is even a thing which you know that’s a whole other discussion that was our topic for clubhouse last night that I want to spin off of on the next episode uh but you look at things like that and you try and you build these things in a very idealistic way and nothing is ideal nothing is going to be perfect nothing’s going to be polished and and cleaned out around the edges everything is going to be a little bit messy and it is through that that you find the power and you find everything that you’re meant to do in this life so it’s no more holding back kirsten tyrell is here bringing the fire and I think just getting myself out of the space of second guessing and overthinking and doubting and trying to label things and trying to get things in such a perfect place has really held back the progress and the work and so what I loved about the conversation that we had on clubhouse was it was real and we talked about things that were hard and I learned from people I didn’t go in there trying to be the biggest expert in the room I went in there truly wanting to be teachable and also bring whatever value I could I was able to answer some questions I was able to glean knowledge from answers from some of the other women who have been doing this longer than I have it’s really really really powerful and I realized that by not sharing my voice and not stepping up to the microphone as I did five years ago which is really funny there’s here’s the funny thing about imposter syndrome I didn’t really have any in the beginning because I truly believe that what I had to share was just so amazing like there was fear there was nerves right and there was a little imposter syndrome but nothing compared to what I have now and I think the more you actually have to offer the more imposter syndrome sets in and people who are just out there with reckless abandon and sometimes professing things that do not make any sense are the ones who really should be kind of focusing on polishing their message and really analyzing if they have anything of value to share rather than regurgitating other people’s information and the people who have a lot of knowledge expertise and things to share are the ones who are holding back because of that imposter syndrome because they really look at all the value that’s out there and they want to make sure that they are filling the space that they need to fill but it holds us back and it has held me back and i’m so sorry for that because I know there’s so many lessons that I have learned from this year and there’s so much that I have to bring to you so the main message of today is don’t hold back go after those big scary dreams and this whole show is transitioning into Marvelous Mompreneur we’re going to talk about tips and tricks this isn’t just going to be the motivation and inspiration while there will be plenty of that I assure you there are going to be real things that you can apply to your business I want to talk about the stuff that i’m doing the things that my fellow entrepreneur moms are doing so that if you’re in any stage of this journey of building a business while raising your family you’ll have a safe space to come you’ll have a place to get motivated a place to overcome those fears and those things that hold you back I cannot wait for this year it’s going to be amazing i’ll see you over on clubhouse i’ll see you over on instagram I can’t wait for this year and I cannot wait to connect with you more and help you build the business of your dreams have a marvelous day and we’ll see you on the next episode.
